On Home Installation
September 28, 2024 | ODD Studio B - 2 Daly Ave, Ottawa
Drop in for as long as you like, between 7:30-9:30pm
Presented as part of Pique - Fall Edition 2024
with the generous support of the Ottawa Dance Directive
On Home is a pop-up improvisational interactive performance guided by the Voices Dance Project's dancers in collaboration with Ottawa-based musician, composer, producer, and educator Jack Hui Litster.
On Home challenges the traditional approach to presenting dance works by bringing the audience into the creative process, inviting them to partake in the artistic exploration of the questions: “What is home?”, “What makes home?", "How does one cope with home being unsafe?" and “What does it mean to leave home?" Audience members are welcome to come and go, join in the dance, interact with the dancers, and write down reflections, prompts, or sketches about home, connection and displacement. These contributions will inspire the music and movement the audience will see throughout the evening.
